Nestled in Historic Downtown Liberty, Water Street Ceramics is a community-centered pottery studio designed for anyone who’s ever wanted to work with clay — whether you’re picking up the tools for the first time or returning to an old passion. Our mission is simple: to make creativity accessible, connection easy, and clay approachable for everyone.

We believe everyone can be an artist. The arts are for everyone.

A Place to Learn, Create, and Connect

Our studio offers a mix of pottery classes, memberships, and creative events — all in a space built around warmth and inclusion. If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to try pottery,” this is your sign. From our Try-It Workshops to Month-Long Courses, there’s something for every level of curiosity (and mess tolerance).

Each class is designed to help you learn at your own pace — no pressure, no perfectionism, just clay, tools, and good company.

Memberships, Private Studios, and Shared Space

For those ready to spend more time at the wheel, Water Street Ceramics memberships offer extended access to the studio, shelf space, and a supportive community of makers.

We also offer a limited number of private studio rentals, designed for established artists who need their own creative space. These studios are priced individually by square footage and available by application only. Every rental includes 24/7 access and use of the shared studio facilities — because while you might create alone, you’re never creating in isolation here.

All memberships and private studio rentals begin with our waitlist and intake process, which helps us ensure the studio remains a good fit for each artist and the larger community.

Events and Workshops for All

Throughout the year, we host creative workshops and events that celebrate the joy of making — from beginner hand-building classes to themed seasonal workshops. This winter, you can join us for our Cookie-Style Ornament Hand-Building Class, a relaxed way to play with clay and create something personal for the holidays.

Keep an eye on our class calendar for upcoming sessions, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re interested in hosting a private event or group workshop.

A Third Place for Creativity

Water Street Ceramics is more than a studio — it’s a third place between home and work where creativity, conversation, and community come together. Whether you’re joining a class, renting a studio, or just stopping by to see what’s being made, our doors (and wheels) are open.
